The longtime lively home to Wall Street, bankers and brokers, The Financial District has recently undergone a neighborhood renaissance. Now, financiers, doctors, designers and entrepreneurs mingle with families enjoying ever-growing array of downtown Manhattan amenities, from Stone Street Historic District where Summer Streets brings everyone out through the day, to the daily pleasures of chic shopping at Tiffany’s and Coach.
Architecturally, the mix of historical, preserved and modern style buildings makes the area delightfully distinctive. Cobblestone streets, old world architecture and historical landmarks stand alongside modern glass-skinned towers, renovated subway hubs and vibrant parks.
The Financial District, also known as FiDi, is the southernmost neighborhood of the Downtown area. It borders the Brooklyn Bridge to the north, Battery Park to the West, and the East and Hudson Rivers. FiDi and its surrounding neighborhoods South Street Seaport on the East River, Fulton Street District and Stone Street Historic District provide a growing variety of options for fine dining, chic cocktail bars and cultural attractions. Recent additions are the kid-friendly Imagination Playground, SoulCycle and farmer’s markets.
As more popular stores and restaurants continue to join the neighborhood, you’ll find the perfect home right here, for modern living in Manhattan’s Financial District.
